The Department of Public Administration established in 2004, is a determined and prominent teaching and research unit. It has 17 full-time teachers, including 4 full professors, 6 associate professors, 7 lecturers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 3 doctoral supervisors and 9 master supervisors. All the teachers have doctoral degrees from domestic and overseas outstanding universities. Most of them have the overseas visiting and cooperation experience.The Department of Public Administration has a sound discipline development and a good foundation for discipline development.
It has a national first-class undergraduate specialty construction site in public administration and two master's degree authorization sites at secondary discipline in public administration and social security. The Department of Public Administration has strong scientific research strength, and has presided over 2 major projects of the National Social Science Fund, 2 key projects of the National Social Science Fund, and 10 other national-level scientific research projects (including the general projects of the National Social Science Fund, National Social Science Fund Chinese Academic Translation Project, the special projects researching ideology and politics of the National Social Science Fund and the youth project of the National Natural Science Fund, etc.)
In recent years, the Department of Public Administration has published over 100 papers in the academic journals, including more than 70 papers in the top Chinese and English journals such as Social Sciences in China, Journal of Management World, Sociological Studies, Journal of Political Science, Public Administration Review, Public Administration, etc. It has received the second prize of the 8th Excellent Achievement Award for Humanities and Social Sciences Research in Colleges and Universities of China, the first prize and the third prize of Guangdong Provincial Excellent Achievement Award for Philosophy and Social Sciences, and second prize of Guangdong Provincial Education and Teaching Achievement (Higher Education Section).
The Department of Public Administration adheres to the concept of "integrity and innovation" and adopts the undergraduate cultivation mode of "thick foundation and wide domain". The students have a solid professional foundation, good political literacy and public spirit, and form the rich and excellent abilities in data processing, research and writing, and team cooperation. After graduation, the students are mainly engaged in personnel department, secretarial department and policy research for party organs, enterprises and institutions, and social organizations.
